WriteReader Assessment: Empowering Early Literacy

We are thrilled to announce that WriteReader is one of the winners of the MIT Solve global challenge supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in AI-enabled assessments! Winning this challenge is just the beginning. At WriteReader, we are committed to advancing educational technology to create meaningful and impactful learning experiences for students worldwide.

Helping teachers save time and cost

Our Assessment Module will provide teachers with automated feedback on students’ writing development and will be an add-on to the existing WriteReader tool. An innovative solution designed to transform literacy learning for K-5 students through interest-based book creation. WriteReader is a comprehensive, web-based platform that is accessible on any device, making it an ideal tool for educators seeking to enrich their teaching methods.

Our assessment module will allow teachers to support their students even more as it will save teachers time from traditional assessment to automated assessment while the students are writing meaningful and interest-based books based on their existing curriculum. This will save teachers time allowing them to focus more on the students.

Get ALL students reading and writing on grade level

The heart of WriteReader is a unique blend of text, audio, and images that allows students to create multimodal books. This engaging format motivates students to write interest-based books, practising all language domains, and is especially beneficial for English Language Learners (ELL) and students who struggle with traditional learning methods.

The Assessment Module is a groundbreaking feature that provides teachers with automated feedback on their students’ writing development. With millions of books created on the platform, WriteReader has amassed a wealth of data that offers unprecedented insights into early writing skills.

Harnessing data for personalized learning

Our Assessment Module leverages unique data points such as emergent writing, word count, readability scores, vocabulary usage, and spelling accuracy. These parameters, developed in collaboration with literacy experts from Marshall University and other institutions, provide teachers with a comprehensive overview of their students’ literacy development at both the individual and class levels.
